Hallway Gallery

After a year, I have finally put up pictures on my walls upstairs. Well, I guess after one year I'm still in the clear, right? And it so happens that I found out that all the molding in our house actually serves a purpose besides decorative. They are used for hanging pictures. The picture-rail molding is common in vintage homes. Yes, our house is vintage (1925). And no, it's not always that cool. Anyway, I found my inspirational photo in Better Homes and Garden (below).

Looks good. How did you hang them? Is that a hook? Does it damage the molding at all? I can't wait to see it in person.
