Little Player
I don't know what it is (well, okay it's his good looks and cute little personality) but frequently when we go out in a public settings and there are other children around, Lucas always attracts a few little girls. Seriously, no joke. He gets chased after, pulled from one direction to the other, piled on. You name it.

Small Confession: Favorite Part of Day
I have to admit I have many favorite parts of the day. But one of my favorites is when I get to cuddle with my honey and then fall into a deep sleep. Zzzzzz...

Jumping on the Bandwagon
Thanks to reading other people's blogs, I have jumped on the bandwagon and bought Deceptively Delicious so I can be sneaking about feeding my kids good food. I knew I needed to take the plunge after hearing my little boy tell him that all he wanted for lunch was hot dogs everyday. I never should of introduced that food to him! Anyway, this book has gotten me exciting not only about feeding my kids good food but also using my vegetables and fruits in unusual ways. No more throwing away spoiled food. We tried out the grilled cheese sandwiches (with sweet potatoe puree) today and it was yummy.

New Website
My church just launched this new website. The pictures are breathtaking. The messages are beautiful, spiritual and inspirational. I love it! And it's perfect for Easter.

Sledding
We went sledding this past weekend...of course. That's what you do when you have kids and it snows and you have no mountains around. You sled and sled and sled until your hinnies can't take it anymore. Stella had a lot of fun; Lucas not so much fun.
Poor little Lucas--he got stuck wearing Stella's hand-me-down pink shoes and white pants.

When I'm in control I go really slow, but I'll have no problem going off jumps

I chuckled when I saw Lucas having a melt down, it reminded me of last year's sledding trip.

Daddy is so much funner than me.

Favorite Dresses
Talking dresses, I thought the Oscars this year was kind of blah. No really big pzazz. All the celebrities played it really safe in my opinion. But these are the two that I liked the best.

Russell + Hazel
Ahhh...another great website to add order and a little color to your life. There are so many office items I like, but my favorite are the self-adhesive notepads. I live on post its. I'm constantly writing me reminders and sticking them around the house. Phone numbers go on them too. Directions, grocery lists--you name it. These are bright and cheery.

Mr. Snowman
Please let me introduce you to Mr. Snowman. Built by Stella and Seth. They were up late Friday night putting him together--complete with kiwi, carrot, green bean and spinach.

Next morning picture before the birds pecked his eyes out.

Note: Seth had a really hard time keeping his eyes open from the blinding sun.

The Mut
The Mut has some really cool useful things. They sell aluminum six-ring binders and clipboards (I didn't see the clipboards on website). I have a few of these that I use during jewelry shows. They give off a more professional look than the cardboard kinds. A few other things I like are the circle paper clips, aluminum basket and the survival tool (I want this for my 72-hour kit).

Snow Snow
Good morning snow! It finally came. This winter has been so cold and dreary. Finally with snow, we can play and have fun outside. Okay, so I am a little annoyed that the snow didn't come after my morning workout at the gym. I had to skip it this morning, and I get a little testy when I don't get my daily dose of endorphins. I guess I'll make it up by sledding, building a snowman and making snow angels.

Finale Coming Up
Can't wait for the season finale for this show. All the designers are favorites--some personalities I like, some styles I like. So, I don't know which one I want to win. I guess it will come down to the best fashion line.

Whistler Pictures
Here are a few Whistler pictures of Seth and Eric. These pictures make me homesick for the mountains. I've lived around mountains my whole entire life until I moved out here. I definitely took it fore granted. I miss the beauty and all the recreations. Wishing I could go play in the snow and take a run down that mountain. Look at that view!

Small Confession: Natural Light
Give me some natural light! I need it. My body needs it. My sanity needs it. My daily dose of vitamin D. First thing I do in the morning is open all the shades. Absolutely first thing. Then I tend my kids; then I make the beds; then I eat breakfast. When we were searching for homes, one of our things that we wanted was a south-side facing home. Not only good feng shui, but we get natural light in the house all day. And it keeps it warm. With good natural light, I do not like to turn indoor lights on at all during the day. Even if a room can use a little brightness, I still wait until it's dark outside. Glad we have a sunroom--that's room I soak up all the rays while indoors.

Mod Green
This mod green fabric is fabulous! I love the look on the settee. This fabric would also look great as curtains, pillow or table runner. Loopy and retro.

Rain at the Beach
Have I mentioned before that we like to go to the beach after it rains? There's something about it that's mystical and also it's a great time to see sea critters out and about. Stella got a new raincoat and rainboots, so it was a great time to test out the products. Now, if only I could find some rainboots for Lucas. He really wanted to copy his sister splashing in the puddles of water.

A Few of my Favorite Things: Lotion
My hands and body get so dry in the winter that I have to slather on the lotion. But I have to get the lotion that's thick and moisturing. One of my favorite hand lotion is L'Occtaine's shea butter hand cream. It's the best and smells so good. My hands soak it up. For my babes, I love Burt's Bees buttermilk lotion and skin creme. Not only are all the ingredients organic, it smells so good on their skin.

Paper Gift Boxes
I love these DIY paper gift boxes. You purchase the templete. I would use a fun pattern paper to make the boxes. Cute idea for Easter candy.

Chocolate Valentine Party
This weekend Seth and I hosted a chocolate dessert Valentine party for an intimate gathering of friends--couples only (except wee-little babies were acceptable). Each couple was requested to bring something chocolate to the party. With all the chocolate desserts and a chocolate fountain that we provided, there was a lot of chocolate! But all the desserts were different and unique and of course...yummy. During the party we requested each person vote for their favorite chocolate dessert. The winner made a chocolate coconut cream pie (to die for), and won a box of exotic truffles. In addition to the chocolate and to go along with the Valentine theme, we played a hilarious game of "The Married Questionnaire Game"--thanks to my sister-in-law Stephanie for helping me come up with all the great questions. There were lots and lots of laughs. It was a riot having each couple answer the put-you-on-the-spot questions. We had two couple winners--one couple who was married the longest in the group and another couple who was married the shortest time in the group. The winning prizes were "Truth, Dare or Chocolate" game (complete with body frosting) and "I like it Spicy Blindfold Chocolate" game. Perfect for Valentine's. For party favors, each couple was given a pastry box to fill with remaining chocolate. We had so much fun that we now want to make it an annual event. Oh, and I must say thank you, thank you to the party-girl herself Natalie for letting me use her chocolate-theme idea. She threw a chocolate party last summer and told me all the fun things they did. Thanks Nat!
Here are the invites:
Decorations: paper topiaries and hanging paper kissing ball, paper flower doilies for table top, fresh red tulips.
chocolate-covered binkie
All things red--Italian soda
Voting cards for the yum contest
Dessert placement cards for voting
A few of the guests. I'm so bad at taking pictures at parties. No problem getting the decorations; huge problem capturing the actual event. But here are a few.

Storybook Tile
I love tile work that tells a story or shows a pattern or design. You see it often in a kitchen or bathroom. These handmade tile pieces would be a perfect little number for that. They are also large enough that they could be used as a hanging wallpiece or tabletop decor.
