This is what I've been dealing with all week--a gutted bathroom. We weren't planning on doing THIS much renovation but we had some surprises when we opened everything up. We really shouldn't be surprised since it's a 80-year-old bathroom but somehow we are shaking our heads wondering how we can get out of this without breaking the bank. We are trying to salvage our tub. It is a really great apron tub that you can't find today. It's long and deep. I really don't want to get rid of it. Anyone repurpose a tub?
Ugh, yes, Tim nearly always runs into problems when doing a remodel. Hopefully it won't end up costing as much as you think.
ReplyDeleteWe had our cast iron tub in Greenwich reglazed. I don't remember who we used but we weren't extremely happy with him. There are different options...like people coming and taking the tub and then some that do it there on site. Definitely options for giving the old gal a bit of a facelift!
ReplyDeleteMan, I know all about that. Clint gutted our bathroom when I was preggie and the smell was somethin' else. I ended up spending a couple nights in the boys room. We are about to gut the kitchen hopefully we don't find too many tear jerkers. A big good luck to you guys.
ReplyDeleteUgh! Those are the kind of surprises I HATE!
ReplyDeleteNot the good kinds of surprise for sure! I have heard of tub refinishing, but I have no idea who does it.
ReplyDeleteOh wow. Good luck with the renovations. I'm sorry you're running into more problems than you anticipated. No doubt, it will look stunning when you're finished :)
ReplyDeleteOh holy cow! Good luck with the reno. I'm sure it will turn out fabulous in the end. You'll be glad you did it - even if your pocket book isn't. :)
