Well, we got a chance to go whale watching this weekend on an impromptu trip to Cape Cod. It was so random and last minute that I forgot many items. Don't you hate it when you go on a trip and forget your toothbrush or favorite pair of pants? That's how the trip started out. Luckily it was a short one. Although, being on the Cape is always a treat and daily cares seem to escape. We had one day at the beach and then the next day was raining. What to do? Go whale watching! The Stellwagen Bank National Marine Sanctuary is located right at the mouth of Cape Cod Bay. It's home to many different whales and marine life. It's where most whales feed and the ecosystem there is very important the ocean's marine life.
Anyway, the whale watching trip was amazing! We saw nine different humpback whales and a baby calf, who was put on a great show for us. We were running from one side of the boat to the other just to keep up with them and watch every move they made. It was a beautiful sight to see and made me remember how much I love these gentle giants.
Amazing! Your so lucky to live around the ocean as your children are growing up. Beautiful pictures!
ReplyDeleteThat is amazing. I've always wanted to see whales as well. Looks like an amazing vacation.
ReplyDeleteI've always wanted to go whale watching...how much fun especially on cape cod. How I miss that place! I always wanted to be a marine biologist growing up too and scuba diving scared me and still scares me to do this. I didn't know you are certified. You always amaze me!
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh! How amazing! Did you take your kids? My son (whale crazy boy) would have gone nuts.
