Sweet Tooth

While I was in the city, I took note of two dessert stops in the West Village. The first one we actually ate at is called Sweet Revenge . It's a wine bar, but they have savory cupcakes that look like tulips because they are baked in parchment paper. The cupcake flavors are very decadent. I ordered one with peanut butter and buttercream frosting. Yum.

Another dessert stop is GROM. They are famous for their gelato. It's the real deal--old-fashion gelato made by an Italian company from Italy using Italian ingredients. Wish we had a chance to stop here, but the line was long. They are serious about their ice cream quality--producing their own fruit on their own farm. All organic.

  1. I think Grom is the best gelato EVER! I first went to Grom in Italy with my sister because she was living there. Of all the gelato places in Italy, Grom was her favorite. The owner told my sister that his dream was to open a gelato shop in Manhattan someday. Fast forward several years, my sister is back in the states & missing Italy, so she googled Grom -- only to find out they were opening in Manhattan that Summer. She came up from DC & we went together. Oh it is so yummy! Trust me it is worth the long line. There is one by the temple on the UWS.

Now I need to try Sweet Revenge ...
