This was the year I hosted my first Thanksgiving. The FIRST year of my married life that I was in charge of the turkey and all the traditional Thanksgiving dishes. I started two days in advance prepping most of the food and to avoid a 4 am alarm buzz on Thanksgiving. And I am so proud of myself that everything came out delish! Pat myself on the back--I don't mind if I do! No fallen dishes, burnt candied yams or hard-as-a-rock dinner rolls. Everything came out how it should be. We were lucky to share Thanksgiving with my in-laws who spent the week with us. It was so nice to have family in town and to show them around our new city, and of course not be alone missing the people we love.
I can attest that everything was truly delish. We had a Thanksgiving feast to remember, and plenty of great visiting all week.
ReplyDeleteSuch a beautiful family!!! And a gorgeous looking meal. Good work Darleen :)
ReplyDeleteEverything looked amazing Darlene! Go you! I think it's a particular right of passage as a woman/mother when you finally host your own Thanksgiving - including being responsible for the turkey. So well done! You did it! :)
